putting the fun in fundraising

four months ago, i pledged to raise $1,800 in order to walk in a 39.3 mile walk in october. the money raised will go to breast cancer research and other breast cancer-related things. if you read my blog, you know all this already.

so far, i have raised $1,500, and my teammate and walking buddy, lauren, has raised just over $700. We are 62% on our way to raising our required combined $3,600, but we have a lot more to go.

in an effort to raise our required funds, we are holding a fundraising event this friday. if you're in the new york area, you should definitely try to stop by. $20 will get you unlimited beer and well drinks from 6 to 8, so come early and bring friends. if that's not enough, you can splurge and buy a special breast cancer cosmo for a few extra bucks. $10 of everyone's cover fee, plus any cosmos we sell, will go towards our fundraising efforts.

we're calling it "booze for boobs," because that's exactly what it is. come drink with us for a good cause!

i'm hoping to raise at least $500, but if we get even more than that, so much the better. we need $1300 between the two of us to complete our fundraising requirements! we're so close.
