back to the north..

wow it's been awhile. i'm really not very good at this. i'm sorry!

first of all, this weekend was another whirlwind adventure and very very fun. i flew to nashville in the rain on friday night, and my flight was only three hours late. waiting in the airport for two hours wasn't too bad. i read the new york times, listened to my ipod and drank bud light. did you know that they let you drink in the airport? while sitting at your gate? in the bathroom? pretty much anywhere. its like one big bar. or a metro-north commuter train car in the afternoon. pretty sure you can drink in the morning at airports, too. you know, with lots of people flying in and out of different time zones they have to be accomodating.

anyway, after the long trip there, jennifer, jodi and i had a great time on jodi's home turf. she is so happy there, her new apartment/house is amazing, and her job sounds great. we ate pancakes and family style southern cooking, went shopping (i bought a new pretty ring!!), and even got to see a tennessee titans game. check out pictures at http://amandae.shutterfly.com. i forgot to name the album so its in the one called "pictures from amanda." near the end. there's a lot of crap in that photo album. mostly because i've been as lax about downloading my pictures as i have about updating my blog.

in other news, i took the air conditioner out of my window in my room all by myself. then my parents tried to take out theirs, my mom opened the window and the poor a/c plummetted to the ground. i didn't witness it personally, but they said it shattered into a million pieces.

oh, and more interestingly, i may have another really interesting apartment find. i'm going to see it tomorrow at 11 a.m. (leaving work for it and everything). its in brooklyn, NEAR the very charming and young neighborhood of park slope, and its very very cheap. the realtor told me it would need a lot of renovation, but that it would be completed by the move in date of november 1. the neighborhood, and the crappy condition of the apartment currently, remind me a lot of my apartment in boston. aw, long lost 92 pleasant. you were so good to us, before the heat stopped working and the ceiling started leaking pee. as long as my future apartment doesn't have those problems i'll be happy.

i'm looking forward to decorating my new space. i'll have to buy a lot of stuff because all i have now is a bed and a couch and some chairs. oh, and a dresser, but i don't like it because the drawers are so small. when i do finally find a place to live i'll put up pictures and take suggestions.

until next time (which i promise will be sooner)

a
