awards season

although the golden globes was an unfortunate mess, it seems like the academy awards are plowing ahead. i am extremely happy with this, because i love love love award shows. i know they are long-winded and boring, but i will never be able to get enough montages and sappy acceptance speeches.

the award nominees were just announced today, and my favorite spot for all things media-related, variety has set up an "award central" spot for all things oscar.
