the promotion

in the midst of all the bs thats been happening in my life, the sadness and loss of death and sickness and broken hearts, there have been a couple of shining moments. one is my new apartment, and with my move in day fast approaching i am getting even more excited and pumped up...although i'm not looking forward to packing and the actual moving part!

another highlight of june 08 has been a promotion that magically arrived in my email inbox last week. the young company i work for is growing, fast, and several of us reporters that have been there for more than a year have been promoted to the level of senior reporter. not only does this mean a more important title, but it also requires a bit more work -- two longer feature stories weekly in addition to the normal load of three news stories a day on the other three days of the week. more reporting, more interviews, more coming up with new feature ideas, more responsibility.

it couldn't come at a better time for me -- i need to get my mind off my personal life and i'll dive into work if that is the answer. for the next few months, work and training for the walk in october will consume me, i'm sure. wish me luck.
