woosh!
about a month ago, i wrote that i felt as if i had just slammed into a mailbox. well, the fit hit the shan this weekend, and i feel myself once again slipping into a serious dark place. but, don't fear for my well being just yet. its nothing that a bad of chips, some reality tv and a lunesta can't fix...and time. i will feel better in time, i'm sure. just right now it feels like my heart is being vacu-sucked out through my belly button.
this, too, shall pass.
tonight, the chips are baked sour cream and cheddar cheese, and the reality show of choice is so you think you can dance. thank! god! tonight is the last night of the open call auditions, and then tomorrow is vegas night, and by 10 p.m. tomorrow we will know who the top 20 dancers will be. then, my social life on wednesday and thursdays will end.
for those of you keeping score, it has been two weeks of these never-ending, corny auditions. i am very tired of stupid people who think they can dance but are clearly delusional. and the auditions have taken us to the fabulous cities of milwaukee! salt lake city! and charlotte! hello, new york? so many good dancers came from new york last year. wtf so you think you can dance?
i have been throwing around the idea of starting a blog about the show, but then i found this blog and thought the area was pretty well covered. that blog led me to another site where some sytycd fanatic had taken some time to research where past contestants have ended up. i'm not sure how accurate it is, but it did have some interesting facts.
for example, i had previously learned that fourth runner-up lacey schwimmer, fresh off a relationship with breaker hok konishi, had started dating american idol david cook. now, i learned that lacey just moved in with another season 3 alum, shauna noland.
and my favorite, sara von gillern, is currently touring with avril lavigne in europe. and reality tv proved too much of a draw for the likes of sara and hok who, along with dominic and ryan, plan to audition for america's best dance crew on mtv. hey, if all four of them can make it to sytycd's top 20, do you think they could make it to the finals on another reality dance competition? i do. and what is this america's next dance crew? how have i never watched it before? maybe because the only shows i've been watching on mtv are the hills, the paper and the search for the next elle woods.
speaking of which, you should check out the elle woods show. its good! but what do i know? i love so you think you can dance.
