a life update

well, i've been unemployed for almost three months now, and there's not much to report. i have been working hard at staying busy, but i have very little to show for my efforts. here are a few examples:

1. my first post-employment freelance article, a men's wear article that ran in WWD's special magic section at the beginning of the month. (click to enlarge)



2. you can check out my mediabistro freelancer profile here, and please send the word around that i will work for free! i need to get published! then hopefully i will get paid, or a paying job. so far, this freelancer profile ad on mediabistro's freelancer's marketplace has yielded two inquiries, but nothing substantial has come out it so far. although i did register with a temp agency to work freelance as a financial factchecker for hearst, as the need may arise. we'll see.

3. i've been busy updating profiles and networking. check out my my linkedin profile, and please notice the amazing recommendation by my former boss jean, which is possibly the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me. also, if you tweet, follow me on twitter. my handle is, just like the blog, "amandanyc."
