stamford vacation

this week, i traveled home to my parents' house for a little r & r.

now, some of you might be thinking: "why do you need to rest and relax? you're unemployed! you can stay in bed all day!" to you i say: shut it. you obviously don't understand how stressful it is to be unemployed, and how hard i have been working to try to find work. maybe its my fault, because i haven't had the time to update this blog and, since you probably don't talk to me much on a regular basis, you really have no other way of knowing what i've been up to.

with that out of the way, let me get back to my little vacation in stamford. when i was working, i tried to come home for a weekend every month or every six weeks or so. it was nice to see my parents and brothers, do some laundry and get some home cooked meals, and especially nice in the summer when the pool is open. but now that i'm not working, i like to be around during the weekends because that's when there are people around to hang out with during the day. (ed note: if you are unemployed or work from home and are around to hang out with during the day, let me know!) as a result, i hadn't been back to stamford since my birthday, which is only about a month and a half ago but feels like forever because january was ENDLESS.

i decided sort of last minute to make the trip back on tuesday, and i didn't really set a time to come back to new york. there really isn't anything i can't do here than i can do in my apartment in brooklyn, besides going in to manhattan to meet with potential employers or friends. but once i got here, i totally shut off. i have been taking advantage of the big HD tv, reading my book and sleeping in. today, my brother - who is in massage therapy school - gave me a massage. sounds like a good vacation to me!

i'm planning to head back to brooklyn tomorrow before the weekend, and i need some goal to get me through next week.
