vacation!

so sorry i haven't posted in a few days. i've heard the blog has gotten lots of attention lately. welcome, new readers, friends and family alike! hey, if you like what you see, or hate what you read, leave me a comment.

first, my apologies for skipping a few days of blogging. this week has been a tough one for me. the last few days before vacation are always a drain on my energy...i just struggle to pay attention.

regardless, this week was just a regular week at work. what's more, i had three big features to report and write, one due thursday, one friday. or so i thought. thursday, our internet at work went down for a little bit in the morning and my boss announces: "well you can all go home and file your stories from there. and tomorrow, too."

so great. the stories i was struggling with, anxious over, had a later due date. and i couldn't have gone home to stamford thursday night and filed all my stories from there today. thanks for the heads up, marius (my boss)!

but, i had made plans for thursday night, so i was not getting out of brooklyn any earlier. as it happened, i filed all my stories today. i was the last one to file my last story, at 8:15 p.m. but since the real deadline is actually tomorrow, i'm not too worried. now that they're written and submitted, i just have to worry whether or not my boss will like them!

so with work all wrapped up until jan 2, i can feel free to blog like mad, and blog i will, i promise. i'm sure there will be at least one entry a day until i take off for the mad new years eve adventure to virginia on december 31. and since i've already been informed that i'll be getting a new computer for xmas, it will make blogging that much more enjoyable!

but in between blogging i have so much to fill up my schedule with! tomorrow i was going to drive to jersey to hang with lauren's fam at their annual hannukah party. but i backed out when i learned my family wasn't too keen on parting with a car for the whole day. ah, life was so much easier before joey could drive!!

so tomorrow instead i guess i'm going to run some errands and finish up the xmas shopping. wrap my presents. pick up my dry cleaning. maybe get a new phone. i guess i should probably alert the stamford friends that i'm around. i missed them all at thanksgiving. or maybe i just avoided them, i forget.

i am so excited with the prospect of a whole week off. and the best part is: tomorrow is saturday, my favorite day of the week. and it's followed by several more "saturdays" one of which is christmas.

last but not least, i would like to take up a tradition that i have done every year since i can remember, and i am sad i have forgotten to do it wholeheartedly this year (i blame the new job). i would like to start a countdown to my birthday.

t minus 14 days until i turn 24.
