there's something about wednesdays

this is the second wednesday in a row when i have come home from work completely exhausted. i really wanted to go to the gym tonight, but i just can't imagine it. my eyelids are heavy. my pj pants are on. i have to admit to myself: it's just not going to happen.

my four month workiversary was monday. that means it's been four long months of stressful days, restless nights and many evenings of complete exhaustion. i thought i was getting a hang of it at work, even taking time out to read a little gawker or the new york times during the day. then i just have a long and tiring day, get out of work late, wait for the subway forever and stand half way home. nothing makes me tired than standing on the subway.

so once again my plans for the gym are a wash. i know i'm paying a lot of money for this gym and i'm disgustingly out of shape, but i'm hoping as time goes by and i get into more of a routine at work, i'll get into more of a gym routine as well. ugh. work.

more than any other day of the week, wednesday really wipe me out. i feel like its the day when i'm finally awake and prepared and with it and productive, but by 6 p.m. i'm spent.

i had a little break this week, because i had food poisoning or something equally lovely on monday. i still worked, but got to work from the comfort of matt's futon. fantastic.

despite my minibreak, this morning really threw my whole week off. i woke up around 6:30, because someone had to be on tv pretty early (hint: definitely not me). i forced myself to get up and go to the post office to see if the package my mom sent me before valentine's day was there. thank god i did! it seemed like they have tried to deliver it twice...but since i didn't get even one notice in my mail box, i had no idea. and also no way to claim it at the post office. so, let this be a lesson to the rest of you: if you ever want to send me a package, either send it to me at work or let me know its coming.

so i finally got the package and its super cute. but of course there's chocolate and swedish fish inside and i've given up sugar for lent! (that's another story) if the package had come on time, i would have polished off all the candy before lent even began. sigh.
