new year's eve

my boss informed us yesterday, via email, that we were going to be working on december 31. so, i will be off december 24-28 and jan 1, but not monday, december 31. that puts a crimp in vacation plans, doesn't it?

although in the grand scheme of things this is not a big deal, especially since i'll probably be celebrating new years in nyc anyway and it will probably be a half day and they'll buy us lunch, i am sort of shocked. its just a little uneven to take off a full week and the following tuesday and NOT the monday.

but as they say, the news waits for no man. or something like that. so the news must go on. and please have a drink for me at noon on new years eve day. you know what i'll be doing at exactly 5:01...
