the original city trench

i bought myself a present today.

i went to banana republic to return something i bought online a few weeks ago...an ugly dress that didn't fit. but it was while shopping online that i noticed that banana has great trench coats. and i have been looking for a trench for maybe 6 months.

i toured the store, then found a denim-colored coat. i tried it on and it was too big. the arms were too long.

i walked around a little more, and was about to leave, defeated, when i noticed this cute, peacoat length trench with big black buttons. they only had extra small, so the sleeves were the right length, but i'm worried about whether i'll be able to wear sweaters underneath.

but i had to buy it. it was love at first sight.

i was happy, but as i left the store i noticed the coat -- my new coat! -- on a sign outside the store. the sign said "the original city trench."

now i know this is silly, but i am a city girl, and that sign just made me double sure i had made a good purchase.
