living in a dead zone

right now, i am stealing someone's wireless internet. this is the lengths i must go to, just to check my email and post on my blog. you see, i made the stupid mistake of asking the girls who moved out of this apartment to leave their cable and internet for me, and i would just switch it over into my name. then my brilliant plan all came crashing down.

first, i realized there was no power cord for the modem. so, i had cable but no internet until i could track down the former tenant and get the cord from her. upon returning to my apartment with the cord after the 4th of july weekend, i learned the modem was dead...it did not turn on when plugged in.

finally, i made a trip to time warner and got a new modem. on wednesday, i came back to the apartment, only to learn that the cable and internet were now both out. no service at all. gone, finished over. so, i called time warner. there was nothing they coudl do to help me, other than send a technician...next tuesday.

so, until then, i have no tv (this is torture!) and no internet...unless i steal. i have been trying to steal since i moved in, and tonight is the first time i have been able to get a reliable signal. thank you neighbors!

also, my blackberry is inexplicably not working. i can't send emails from it anymore and it thinks my gmail password is all wrong when its clearly right. what is wrong with this apartment? it kills technology and makes me want to die. no tv? no internet? i might as well be in jail.
