what effects?
part of my job involves writing about different types of drugs. i have to admit, a lot of them have funny names. i have often found myself wondering, how so they come up with these wacky monikers?
but i just saw and ad for aciphex, an acid reflux disease treatment. now i kind of understand where they were going with this one...aci represents the "aci" in "acid reflux" and "phex" kind of might be related to the "reflux" part. but the problem is, when you put them together it sounds like ASS EFFECTS*.
doesn't that sound like a drug you would like to take?
*no offense to anyone who is actually taking this medicine. acid reflux is a very serious disease

I saw a commercial for "Ass-Effects" this weekend and it is ridiculous. I am convinced that the people who named this drug and/or the marketing company they hired to promote it should be fired.
But, let's be honest, hilarious commercial nevertheless.
