chi-town recap
i spent five days this week in chicago, visiting little brother joey. i flew out saturday morning and went immediately to joey's apartment which is pretty and new and was recently cleaned by his roommate's parents (who own it).
after some lunch, a tour of his campus and a quick nap, i went to his gym meet. after that, we scavenged dinner and made an early night of it.
the next day, the sun was shining and it was warm. we headed downtown to check out the sights. first, we visited millenium park, which has an awesome, reflective bean-shaped sculpture as its centerpiece.
i wore some annoying shoes because we were heading to a comedy show after, so we had to stop to get bandaids for my blisters..and a tour book/map.
after lunch, we headed north towards second city, the famed sketch comedy/improv troupe that has produced more snl cast members and famous comedian actors than anywhere else. the show was great, so hilarious. and we shared a small table with two women who were nice enough to take this photo of us.
the next day, it was also beautiful and hot. we went to the top of the sear's tower...one of the tallest buildings in the world, topped only by some recent buildings in asia.
after that, we walked to navy pier and had dinner.
the next couple days i shopped a lot at macy's, it rained, i rented a car, and we tried to go to some museums but it was spring break week in chicagoland, so the lines were crazy. so we gave up.
on wednesday night, i met jennifer for a drink and some catching up. it was a happy coincidence, but funny that we have to go out of town to meet up. oh, life.
all in all, a great trip, relaxing and fun. i got some great photos and some even better qt with joey...and some memories!!
