no more gin for me
i feel like a failure. i had so many plans for productivity today. there is garbage to take out, laundry to do, and i wanted to overload on products at the drug store. but its 1:30 and i'm still in bed. my mind is telling me to get up, but my body is not cooperating.
i'm pretty sure the lack of cooperation is a result of the gin. i went out last night with coworkers and drank a little, but skipped dinner. and when i say "a little" i mean more than i have in months. oh the best laid plans never go unpunished. that's a saying, right?
at least i didn't black out, which is the usual result of the horrible too much alcohol, not enough food combination. but i think i did freak out my traveling companion when i decided last minute to hop off the subway a stop early. although there is no clear reason why i did this, i'm pretty sure i wanted to go to matt's, then remembered he wasn't home.
i never said my actions made sense.
so as a write this i am internally willing myself to get up, shower and live life. since i've spent most of the morning in and out of conciousness, watching morning news shows and food network, i have heard that today is "the calm before the storm" like eighteen times and i'm starting to think i should invest in a panini press. this tells me two things: i need to stop watching cooking shows, and i should enjoy the sunshine before the apocalypse arrives tomorrow.
yes, didn't you hear? the world is ending tomorrow, around 8 a.m., when it may or may not snow but it is definitely going to rain, possibly for 12 hours straight. and it is going to be cold. and did i mention that it's APRIL. this is not supposed to happen. where is the t-shirt and flip flop weather? um, hello global warming? you can show your blazing heat waves and melting ice caps any day now. i just bought a new pair of reefs that are just sitting unloved on my bedroom floor. sad.
so i guess i have to get up. i have to stock up on bottled water and canned food. just in case
also, i'm going to see blades of glory. because if new york city (including brooklyn of course) is going to float away tomorrow, i'd like everyone to know the last thing i did was see a will ferrell movie. just cuz.
