so you think you can dance finale: madness ensues

wow. last night's so you think you can dance was amazing. the dances were perfection, most of them gave me goosebumps! i'm sad that all four of these dancers can't win.

but only one will be declared the winner...tonight. as nigel drilled home, the winner need not be the best dancer, but america's favorite. that being said, i think lacey is still the favorite to win it all.

all four dancers are the best in my opinion. they all have some style or ability that makes them technically superior to the other, and head and shoulders above the other dancers who didn't make it to the finale. so, technical ability does not make one stand out more than the others. they are all good.

so, it is their personality and personal style that is going to attract voters. and keep in mind, these voters are primarily teenage girls living in the midwest, which perhaps explains why male dancers have won two seasons in a row. below, i will dissect each remaining dancer's pros and cons, coming up with my ultimate prediction.

neil
pros: neil is very, very good looking. he makes the girls screech. he also has a very flashy style in that he does a lot of flips and gymnastic tricks and spins.

cons: he was late to the party. judges and viewers were slow to pick up on his talent and ability. he is also doesn't have a very diverse style--he struggled in the ballroom dances he did throughout the season. ultimately, i think he just doesn't have the likability to garner the majority of votes required to win.

sabra
pros: sabra is perfection when she dances. she has the cutest little body and a flawless style. she gets tremendous compliments from the judges, choreographers and her fellow dancers.

cons: like neil, i think sabra may be a little late to the party. last night, judge dan karaty said "i thought dominic was carrying you during the first part of the competition." while i don't know how many people agreed with dan, sabra's star definitely didn't shine as bright until she was paired with new partners. although she is my favorite, dominic may have cost her the win! she is an incredible dancer, but her personality is not as showy as others, and this quite attitude. it is more professional than say, lacey, its not as attractive to viewers. sabra is just not as magnetic as some of the other finalists.

danny
pros: danny is tall, graceful and has terrific extension from the top of his head all the way down to his pointed toes. he can do like a million pirouetts in a row, leaps like the ten lords a'leaping and even flips.

cons: some of the judges have said danny is arrogant, and that might influence the voters' decision. danny sweats a lot, which is unattractive and may turn off female voters. also, danny is a guy, and you know everyone is pulling for a girl to win this season.

lacey
pros: what can you say about lacey? she is entertaining and bubbly, but very focused and professional when dancing with a partner. she has an inate talent and ability that cannot be taught...its just a part of her. she makes difficult dances look easy.

cons: i have seen fan message boards decrying their hatred for all things lacey. many believe she shouldn't get the title because she is benji's sister and there can't be two schwimmers in a row. and her solos have all been so-so. also, she's a little annoying and she has fake hair.

so there you have it. there are good reasons for all four to win...but i think lacey will persevere. i hope i am proven wrong, though. go sabra!

ed note: tonight i will be traveling during the finale...so i won't get to see it until i get a chance to watch a taped version on sunday (unless i can convince someone in the airport to switch a tv to fox). so expect a wrap up blog next week, where i reveal how well i did with my predictions for the past few weeks!
