when good carrots go bad

i thought my fridge was pretty bare bones, but when dumping the two loaves of bread my roommate left in there (bread doesn't last that long, does it?) i found an unopened bag of baby carrots in an ignored bottom drawer. i think they have been there for several months.

do you know what happens to baby carrots when they sit in a bottom drawer of a fridge for several months? they rot, and turn into mush. so in fact i did not find carrots, i found a plastic bag of brown liquid and mush. fun!

so i trashed that, along with the loaves of bread and two packages of tortillas. sadly, here are the current content of my fridge:

brita pitcher
hummus
two mikes hard lemonades (my roommate's)
sugar free jello pudding snacks
block of kraft cheddar cheese (roommates)
condiments
