i have a lot to say to you, dear readers. i have been mia because of vacation, and after vacation, when i wanted to write in my blog, i knew i should write about my vacation before moving on to other frivilous topics, so i put it off. so, here is my chance to catch up on some things that have been going on in my life.

top chef
first things first. top chef wrapped up season 3 while i was on vacation, but no worries!, i tivoed it. and the new top chef is: hung. so, i guess i'm really not as good at predicting the winner of top chef as i am as guessing project runway and other reality shows.

well...project runway starts nov. 14 and i am going to start a whole new feature for amanda in the city: real time blogging, or blogging what happens as i watch. most likely these will not get posted instantaneously but will be available for anyone who missed the show or just wants to hear my internal monologue. well that is the plan, at least. we'll see what actually happens when the show premieres in a few weeks.

matt goes to africa
after several months of being chained to his desk, matt is once more hitting the road for a story. this time, he's venturing to nigeria. this is scary and exciting for me. scary because...well he's going to africa and there are some scary things over there: war, political upheaval, disease. but i'm excited because its a pretty amazing and gutsy thing to travel to the dark continent, and he's very lucky that he gets to go on forbes' dime. i'm hoping he'll bring back some exciting photos and stories.

i have been surprised to see hits on my blog climb ever since i installed my counter in june. with more readers comes more oppurtunity for reader interaction! i am always looking for new reoccuring features for the blog and new topics to chat about. feel free to post any questions, comments or suggestions in the comments for any post. i'd love to hear your feedback!

lastly, i want to apologize in advance for a possible lack of posts over the next few weeks. fall is typically a very difficult time for me. the cold weather and shorter days really sap my energy and make me cranky. and i don't want to blog when i'm feeling less than creative, because then you just get stupid posts like this one! i'm going to try to keep on top of things, so check back often, i promise lots of new things coming soon.
