so this is what happens when your boyfriend goes to africa
i'm going to extoll the virtues of matt going on the road now, because i know i'm going to start missing him in 2.5 seconds.
i'm happy to know exactly where i'll be sleeping for the next three weeks because it means i can stop carrying around my glasses, make up and ipod charger in my purse. and because i'll be spending every night for the next three weeks in my own apartment, i can bring lunch to work as often as i want, and maybe even start eating breakfast before i leave for work.
and once i got home from work this evening, i set to beautifying my home.
less than 24 hours after matt departed on his world travels, i found myself on my hands and knees washing my bathroom floor with clorox disinfectant wipes. this task sounds more daunting than it actually is, since my bathroom is a 7' by 3' box, and most of the floor space is taken up by bathtub.
the bathroom scrub down came after i swept the kitchen, because there was one year of dust bunnies that had been hiding under the dresser matt helped me dump on sunday. i also swept the hall, and cleaned the rest of the bathroom, so those parts of the apartment are sparkling as best they can.
then i took some time this evening to sit on my couch and catch up with erin in san francisco. this was a real treat for me, because i hardly ever spend time chatting on the phone at night. i'm usually too busy sitting on matt's couch watching tv.
so, i'm off to a good start for meeting the goals i hope to achieve in the next few weeks. not only do i want to try to keep the apartment clean, bring lunch to work as much as possible, go to the gym more and lose weight, i also want to spend the time i would have spent with matt catching up with as many people as possible, either in person or on the phone, instead.
wanna hang out?
