its the most wonderful time of the year

last night, my family and i drove through seven states. but i literally drove the car through half of virginia and north carolina. my shift was from 10 p.m. until 1:30 a.m.

when i drive i like to listen to music to keep me awake and upbeat, especially when its dark, i'm tired, its late and i'm driving on a boring highway. i have a habit of scanning through the radio stations until i land on one that is playing something i can boogie to.

last night, after we crossed into north carolina at midnight, i happened upon a station playing all christmas songs. although in a month i will probably be sick of these songs, it was fun to bop along to feliz navidad two days before thanksgiving. it was a signal that the holiday season is here. and i always love a good christmas carol.

the songs reminded me of all the good things that this season brings: fun movies, christmas-themed episodes of our favorite tv shows, christmas carols, parties and presents. although i am not looking forward to christmas shopping and getting a year older, i do enjoy this time of year. and i'm excited.

and tomorrow...tomorrow is the best day of the whole year.
