weekend in the country
i'm sorry that my last post was so melancholy. i am a complainer, and know where is that more clear that here. but after a rough couple days around the office, i shipped myself off to my parents' house for the weekend, and i think it really did some good.
unfortunately, i wasn't able to sleep in until 1 p.m. and i didn't carve a pumpkin, even though my mom had one there for me and i could have done it sunday afternoon. what fun would it have been if i couldn't see the glowing jack-o-lantern at night?
what i did get was fresh air, brisk fall breezes, a saturday matinee and two amazingly yummy dinners courtesy of mom and dad. i felt the stress leave my body as soon as i got off the train in stamford friday night. we went straight to dinner at a favorite spot, but all i could think about was sleep.
i was so exhausted all day friday. i was hardly myself. i just wanted to make it through the day. but being home and among family energized me, and every little bit helps.
heading back to the city sunday was not unpleasant. i was reinvigorated and ready to take on my life. it also doesn't hurt that thanksgiving, my all time favorite holiday is just around the corner. that makes life so much more happy and exciting!
another fun fact: the big two-five is exactly two months away. let the countdown begin!
