alyssa is preggers

i seem to be getting good news from lots of close friends and family recently. first of all, i learned friday that one of my best friends from high just up and eloped. she is my first friend to be married. its a little hard for me to wrap my head around, but i am so happy for her -- and jealous that she is so able to follow her heart and marry her boyfriend just days after he proposed while they were on vacation in the bahamas!

no need to worry, matt and i will not be getting hitched next week on our cruise.

in other happy (but not so recent) news, my cousin alyssa is pregnant, due december 25. i was lucky enough to get to spend the day with her yesterday. despite her very swollen state, she trooped around nyc like a pro. we walked all the way from her hotel, at 32nd st, through times square, to the park. we snapped some photos, and i wanted to illustrate the cute pregnant weight she's put on, so i'm showing you an older picture of her, too, so we can all compare. i can't wait to be pregnant and not care how much weight i put on!!
