got them all cut
i have just spent more time than i want to admit trying to take a good picture of the new hair cut i got today. but, truthfully, its not easy to take a picture of just hair without your face getting in the way. and i worked out, so that definitely ruined the look a little bit. and it probably wouldn't look that different to you anyway.
but, it looks and feel much different to me, and i'm happy with the results, even if it did take over an over longer than i had expected and cut into my work day significantly. oops.
anyway, my stylist, beau, is a genius. really. he told me he wanted to dye my hair blonde, or red, and i have to admit, that has always been something that i have fantasized about? you walk into the salon with hair one color and walk out looking like a completely different, possibly hotter, person? i have always believed that blondes are treated differently than brunettes, and i would love to test that theory. beau tempted me.
but i am still a brunette, and will most likely remain one until i come into a large sum of money somehow. not only will it take approximately 3 hours to bleach my hair blonde, but it would cost about $300, not to mention the upkeep of new dye jobs every two months.
at the moment, i have a few things in my life i need to spend my money on, like all the costs for a new apartment in the coming months. and today, i was trying to place all the frivolous things that i spend my money on in the order in which i would give them up if i no longer had the money on them. sadly, taking care of my hair would probably be the first to go, which is why i gave up highlights when i graduated college -- i could no longer afford the extra expense. since then i have indulged in lots of things that i would have to give up if i found myself in a financial pinch: almost weekly manicures, bikini waxes, my blackberry, cappuccinos, my gym membership, pricey cocktails and bottles of pink champagne (a summer favorite!)
so, looks like the dye job will just have to wait. that's okay. there are more important things, anyway. like pink champagne.
