omg SYTYCD is back in four days

there are many reasons to love summer, but television programming is not one of them. of course, it is not surprising that the tv sucks during the summer. longer days and warm weather keep us lingering out of doors and away from the television sets, plus there is a lot of other things to watch if you care to sit in front of the tv on warm summer evenings, like baseball, a favorite in my house growing up.

but i will never be able to live without tv in the evening, even in the summer. and now that all my favorite shows are wrapping up their regular seasons, all too soon it seems following weeks of a strike-related black out, i'm facing a tv wasteland. hello netflix, yet again (this summer i am hoping to watch the tudors, dirt and catch up on lost)

however, last summer i discovered so you think you can dance, the most amazing reality competition show ever to be invented. and, it premieres thursday. and, i could not be more excited.

i prepared myself for the upcoming season of sytycd by spending this rainy afternoon watching a marathon of the last few episodes of last season on mtv. i still cannot get over how talented the dancers were last year. can any one live up to them this season?

will we get a dancer as cute and bubbly, and consistently wonderful, as lacey? (who, by the way, is allegedly dancing possible american idol david cook) will this season see another male dancer as graceful as danny? or good looking and athletic as neil? and how will it be possible to crown another champion as naturally talented and well-rounded as sabra?

i just can't wait to see!
