slurpees on the slope

a few months ago, when i was considering moving out of my apartment in april, i made a mental list of all the things i would miss when i departed my current perch on the corner of 4th ave and 13th st. at the top of my list was close proximity to two subways, 50 cent per pound wash, dry and fold laundry across the street and a pizza place that stays open until 4 a.m. within a few blocks.

now i have one more thing to add to my list: 7-11.

ever since i was little i loved me a slurpee. i could drink them every day, but they don't come in diet, so when the 7-11 opened on 5th ave just a few steps from my apartment, i purposefully avoided the pull of its shiny white glow, since i was still on a diet and all. but when i finally went two weeks ago, i was hooked.

tonight, i am curled up on my couch with a burrito and a 28 oz. slurpee in three flavors -- cherry, coke and mountain dew -- and i'm getting ready to watch my favorite shows. could there be a better night? right now, i don't think so.
