pictures from the baby shower

although i am not a big fan of weddings, babies, or showers, i was forced to participate in a baby shower yesterday. there was a lot of pastels and presnt opening, but i got to see my extended family, including my cousin's 6 month old baby cael and bri's pup clover.



my mom and i drove down to villanova to my aunt and uncle's house, which was all decked out in baby decorations. girlfriends and female family members poured in, and we ate tea sandwiches and the best cake ever, and alyssa opened mounds of presents.

i was so happy to see my cousins. all of alyssa's sisters were there with their significant others (although the men stayed away from the estrogen fest) and my cousin genevieve flew in from minnesota and came with my aunt della.



baby cael was very cute. at first ryan (his dad) let me hold him, and he got all fussy. i'm just not comfortable holding a baby, andt his baby was kind of big, too! but he was very good and very attached to his mom. he would cry when she left the room. he loves his grandparents, and my aunt just cracks him up.

my uncle seemed especially attached to him. with four daughters, you can tell my uncle has been stockpiling boy bonding activities for years, awaiting the arrival of a boy grandchild. cael and him get along great. at one point in the afternoon, my uncle was drinking beer and cael kept pulling the can towards him and sucking on it. i'm not sure if the baby wanted the beer, or if he is just interested in whatever is in the hands of the person who is holding him. he's a very curious boy.



although the day was filled with froo froo girly things, i had a fun time catching up with my family, and i think it was a good way to start out the thanksgiving holiday (even though it was a week before thanksgiving). i'm wishing alyssa and peter the best of luck...they are so ready for a baby and i think they'll make good parents!
