this week's predictions
first of all, what happened with top chef this week? there wasn't a new show, and they did not warn us of that. i am very upset.
but on to better things...
whoa, a lot of things changed on me on so you think you can dance this week! first of all, i was not prepared to have the judges stop deciding who would got after we got into the top ten. then, they tell me that the couples are going to be mixed up every week. then we get to vote for dancers individually and the girl and guy with the lowest number of votes goes home today. wow.
so, following all these crazy revelations (which i would have known, had i watched the first two seasons of the show) i am at a huge disadvantage in picking the losers this week. here's why:
-in the past, viewers votes put couples in the bottom three, so after a few weeks i had a good feel for which couples were the audiences favorites. now that the audience will be voting for individuals, it will be harder to predict
-i also had a good feel for who the judges liked and disliked, but with decision making out of their hands, all that knowledge means nothing.
-what's more, the couples were all mixed up this week. mixing up the dynamics and exposing the rough edges on some former favorites (i'm looking at you, kameron)
regardless, i think my vast knowledge and experience in reality tv will help me predict at least who will be in the bottom. i'll get to that. first, let's review how i did with my predictions last week.
so, i have to admit, i didn't really hit it right on with last week's predictions. however, i correctly guessed which three couples would be in the bottom. and i said i wanted anya and hok to go, although i didn't think the judges would vote of anya. i was wrong!
so back to this week's show. five new couples, with five new dynamics. jaimie and dominic were by far the scariest. they are both in real danger. lauren and neil, who i was not a big fan of, are brilliant when paired with other people! i loved neil and sara's disco jive and lauren was excellent in her solo.
as for the solos...man i never want to hear that stupid john mayer song again. that got real annoying real fast. but they all performed well, however i agree with mia michaels, no one really took it up a notch.
so now here comes the part where i guess who will get the boot. i'm sad that i has to be a girl and guy. the women are clearly kicking butt in this competition, and i want the finale to be all female...but i don't think that's how things work on this show.
so...for the ladies*, i think jaimie, lauren and sara (sadly) pale in comparison to the perfection that is lacey and sabra. i think they will be elimated in that order. so jaimie will be going home this week.
(ed note: i voted for sara!)
as for the men*, dominic, kameron and pasha recieved the worst feedback from the judges after their couple routines. kameron recovered slightly during the feedback for his solo, but i don't think he can recover completely. i think kameron and pasha may have more individual fans than dominic, so our b-boy might be going home this week.
but honestly, i have no clue how the eliminations will go this week.
*these are just guesses based on the judge's feedback and previous audience voting results. but since we have yet to learn how the audience feels about the individual dancers, this is pure conjucture. i might be dead wrong!
