the waxing poll results

a big big thank you to everyone who voted in my recent waxing poll. the voting closed at midnight last night. so without further ado...the results:

Q: what happens to you when you get waxed*
A:
sweating 44% (8 votes)
nothing 22% (4 votes)
bleeding 11% (2 votes)
i think "i hate men who force me to endure this torture" 11% (2 votes)
other 11% (2 votes)

*ed note: i only listed the choices that received votes. four of the choices received 0 votes.

now, let me explain a little about the results. a total of 13 people voted, but if you add up all the results there was a total of 18 votes in the whole poll. so, 5 people must have voted for two things at once, which is totally allowed. in fact, maybe one person voted for three things!

remember, this is completely anonymous, so i have no idea who voted for what.

either way, sweating is by far the winner. i am relieved by this because i, too, sweat copiously when i am on the waxing table. i think its stress and fear mixed with pain that causes me to break out in a cold sweat. i have goosebumps and my heart races, and when i get up i have soaked clean through that butcher paper they pull out like a doctors office.

but i'm glad to know that i'm not alone.

it seems as though the women who sweat also bleed occasionally. i am curious about this, since i have never experienced bleeding (to my knowledge). what kind of bleeding is it? is it a lot of blood?

(you can also post comments on my blog anonymously, if you feel the need to explain this bleeding phenomenon.)

but there are also a good amount of women (almost a quarter of the ones i polled) who claim that nothing happens to them at all when they get waxed. okay, then i understand why you keep going back.

but what about the rest of us? we certainly don't enjoy it.

perhaps a little explanation of our reasoning can be seen in poll as well. the two people who voted for the choice "i think 'i hate men who force me to endure this torture'" clearly do it for the men, either their boyfriends/fiances/husbands/random hook-ups or men in society in general.

the answers in the "other" category might give us a peek into the female waxer's psyche as well. one respondent said of waxing "i want to kill myself."

but the other summed waxing up perfectly, i think. she said "i think, painful, but worth it."

i tend to agree. even after i have sweat through my shirt.
