come to think of it...this might not be such a bad idea

so the more i think about it, the more i can feel that moving home part-time is actually the right decision for me right now. being at home really centers me, and i like that i won't have to commute every day any more. that takes pressure off. i'm looking forward to banking my rent money every month. i'll be spending a little extra on peak train tickets to get to and from stamford, and maybe some money for gas or parking at the station, but i'll save money on food for dinner and lunch (i'll have to start planning ahead and packing it of course) and of course rent and utilities. i'll put the money in my savings account and save up for a computer, or for a better apartment a year from now.

i can slowly feel things in my life slipping into place. finally.

on another note...so i'm at my parents' house again today and my brothers just got back from playing paintball. joe's physics teacher sometimes plays with them, and he did today. he was hanging around the kitchen just now, waiting for some antiseptic for a paintball wound to the wrist. he asked me if i was still in college. i guess that question makes sense when you have two high school age siblings but really?

i was just talking to my mother today about how young she looks, and i guess i have inherited that trait to a degree. she said of herself: "i looked 12 until i turned 50. then i looked 50 all of a sudden. i guess i never got to experience the in between."

for the record: i think if you study my mother she looks her age, but if you just glance at her quickly she could definitely pass for late-30s. at the very least, she doesn't look a day over 52 (her actual age). so many women who are actually in their 30s are getting plastic surgery these days. coupled with sun damage and all those other wonderful aging things, i think younger women are purposely aging themselves while women who keep it natural can pass for younger as a result!

i try to keep it au naturale so hopefully i can keep my youthful glow well into my 30s. hey, i haven't even hit mid-20s yet...i should stop worrying!
