sheer madness

i had given up on the marketing job, but then i heard from the guy today. he offered me the job, with a pay increase, and they're going to specially tailor the job to me, teach me everything i need to know, and let me write a lot. although its not journalism it is writing, and its still magazines, and there is a lot of oppurtunity for me.

if i take this, will i be giving up? i still have many resumes floating around in the ether...what if i get an interview at another place in the next month and get offered another job? would it be worth it to pass this up just to wait around for something else?

a little bit of news that has gotten lost in the last few days that i've been not blogging. i submitted my resume (via a connection, thank you matt) to richard johnson, the editor of page six (for the non-new yorkers, page six is the infamous, scandal-steeped *must read* daily gossip column in the new york post). i submitted it maybe a month ago, and followed up with a brilliant page six-esque blurb about myself. i didn't hear anything until monday, when i recieved an email from johnson himself: "found your resume in my files. interested in being a reporter for page six?" my response was simple "yes. very interested."

since then...nothing. no love from page six.

but that is one of my ultimate dream jobs...what if an offer from there pops up in the next few weeks? i would absolutely have to take it, no?

i need advice, and i need it fast. i have 24 hours to think through this offer...my professional life and personal sanity hangs in the balance. ah!!

Wow - the marketing offers sounds fantastic. You have to decide now? A part of me says wait, because getting a personal email from Richard Johnson is really good. But the marketing offer is more money, etc. What magazine is it? Let me know what happens!
