slow news day

so i'm dragging at work, and i need a pick me up. blogging will be the best way, i think.

i haven't really discussed the interview i went on monday. i was so intimidated, so nervous, but i did as good as was expected, i think.

first, i got a little lost trying to get on the right uptown-bound train towards times square. when i finally got off around 42nd st, i realized that i had lost the post-it with the address. i thought i remembered 6th ave between 47th and 48th (i was right) but i couldn't remember the right address number. i called matt and he helped me eventually find the big, obvious building that said "news corporation." for those non-media types, news corp is rupert murdoch's company that owns the ny post, fox, and myspace.

so i meet the page six editor and he comes into the lobby and tells me i won't be meeting the post's eic, and he'll be taking me out to lunch because he doesn't have an office. we walk a few blocks to a japanese place, talking the whole time about matt and billionaires. then we had to wait to get a table. it was an unseasonably hot day and i was sweating in my all purpose suit (not summer friendly, btw) and my face was probably red and blotchy. cute.

anyway, we eventually sat down and talked about what to order. he didn't ask me many questions, but i talked away. he seemed more interested in his food, frankly. i tried my hardest to make an impression, but who knows...

so i figure the next round will be meeting post eic, col allan. if i get that call i'll be ecstatic, but three days later and still nothing. oh well. it was fun, and then i decided to stay in journalism, so it was all worth it.

i'm a little bummed today (not sure why) and not feeling so well so i'm going to peace out of work early. but i promise to write more soon.
